Lord, how they have increased who trouble me!

Many are they who rise up against me.
Many are they who say of me,
“There is no help for him in God.” Selah

But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
I cried to the Lord with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill.
 Selah – Psalm 3:1-4

In fleeing from his own son who’s out to kill him, David compares what his enemies say of him to what is true of God. I love how he acknowledges the Lord’s holiness—isn’t it amazing that a perfectly pure Creator God would deign to hear the cries of dirty sinners? What a God! May this artwork remind you of the great God who hears you because He cares about you.
