Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6)
This is a very popular verse, but do you know what comes right before it? “The Lord is at hand.” It is the reason for us to “be anxious for nothing.”
The motivation to do away with our anxieties is this: the Lord is at hand; He is near; He is available and willing to help; He is with you; He is for you; He is working on your behalf. All that considered, the Lord being near is a great and logical reason to “be anxious for nothing”. Got anxiety? Remember who is at hand. God anxiety? Pray, make requests, give thanks to the One who’s at hand.
