You’re in a trial and your faith is being tested. Needless to say, it’s difficult, you’re struggling, your needs are overwhelming, and your lack is glaring. Where do you go? What do you do? James encourages trials-and-testing believers to go to God with their lack. Why? Not only is He the very source of all wisdom, He’s also a gracious and abundant giver. Believer, God doesn’t look down on you for lacking. Instead, He’s a ready and willing giver who welcomes you. Remember who He is and go to Him for wisdom in your trial and testing. He will give.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5 NKJV)
