For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. – Psalm 86:5
This verse tells us so much about who God is. The God we pray to and have a relationship with is welcoming. He’s good, not evil. He’s willing and ready to forgive, not holding a grudge or waiting to spring wrath on us. He’s abundant in mercy, instead of giving us what we deserve. THIS is the character of the One who hears our prayers. He’s a safe person to talk to about anything—including our sin and mess. Come. Be at ease. The God who hears is good!
