For in You, O Lord, I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God. – Psalm 38:15
In this psalm, David is waxing poetic about the turmoil in his heart over the burden and consequences of his own sin. Yet, in his grief David finds hope in his God—the God who hears. When we are weighed down by our own sin, grieved over the consequences, we can turn to a God with hope and confidence that He hears us.
