My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1:2-4)
It can seem like trials take us out of life and put us on the bench where all we can do is deal with the trial. From the bench, life can seem unproductive because you can no longer do what you used to do, how you used to do it. Here’s the great news: God is being productive in your trial. There is inner work going on, the deep intricate mining of the soil of one’s soul that only God can understand and perform. Trials are productive in God’s hands.
