And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)
Paul was writing to the Corinthian believers concerning their previously offered “generous gift” meant to minister to other saints. He tells them how he’s boasted to others of their zeal and willingness to give and that he’s sent other believers to them ahead of time so they could have their gift and their hearts ready to give. He exhorts them to cheerfully fulfill their pledge to give rather than consider it an obligation and do so grudgingly. Paul’s reason? “…for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Cor. 9:7-8).
